The 90's and early 2000's were probably Wilkes Barre's darkest days given that flood anyway. It is making a comeback these days though. Many new buisnessess the town center, Many multimillion dollar projects getting ready to open this year. It gets there, But very step by step. I also agree that Wilkes Barre's biggest is actually crime, And it's bad standing as being crime ridden and dangerous. I do feel that Mayor Leighton is taking the steps needed to tamp down on the crime problem. Wilkes Barre absolutely NEEDS to launch so sort of advertising compaign to show off good strides it has been making, and strive to convince people to come visitour city. We need as a measure to combat our negative image. This is the most important thing we need to do in this city. regarding the condos, Multi billion dollar projects, great restaraunts, New night clubs ect. Don't mean anything if people are afraid to visit here.
